What to Expect

Visiting any new church for the very first time can be a difficult experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What's here for my kids? What can I expect? These are the kind of questions that any reasonable person would ask. We have included this page on our web site to answer those questions and help you feel more comfortable about your visit. We want your first visit to Crossroads Baptist Church to be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home!"

Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

1. Finding our church
Our church is located at 701 S. Highway 7 near Girard and Pittsburg, KS. The church can be found at K-7 and 560th Ave. just one mile north of the K-7 and K-126 intersection. It is a large white church building which sits on the west side of the highway. It is identified by a beautiful church sign bearing the name "Crossroads Baptist Church."

2. Finding the church nursery
Our church has a fully staffed nursery for every service. The nursery is for children two years of age and younger and is located on the main level just inside the foyer.

3. Sunday School and Junior Church classes for every child
For children of every age there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. All Sunday School classes can be found on the lower level of the church building in the special "kids zone!" During the Sunday morning worship hour the children meet together in the "kid zone" for an exciting age appropriate church service all their own! There will be singing, games, crafts, and a special Bible lesson directed to meet their unique needs.

4. What's the morning schedule?
Sunday School begins at 10am and is followed by the morning worship service at 11am.
5. What's on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?
There are adult Sunday School classes on the main level for all adults who would like to attend. It is a time when we study the Bible and learn what it teaches. After Sunday School the adults meet together for the morning worship service. During this service you will enjoy beautiful and inspiring music as we sing together as a congregation, and as we enjoy our choir and other music specials. Included in the morning service is a relevant and encouraging Bible message directed at meeting real life needs.

6. How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Crossroads Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit to our church!

7. Are there services at other times?
Yes. We have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 6:30 p.m. Again, in this service you'll enjoy the choir and special music as well as a challenging and helpful Bible message. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for a mid-week Bible study. If you can't be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you'll visit with us during another service time.

8. Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don't invite you to Crossroads Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Crossroads Baptist Church will be awesome! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step into our church! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
